We’re proud to announce the launch of our #share77k campaign – a 10 year anniversary initiative to bring our fundraising total to £77k and celebrate both our CSR achievements over the last 10 years and the charities we’ve nominated to receive a share of our fundraising money.
When Managing Director Gavin Willis started Search Seven in 2011, he set out to prove that you could run a successful agency that not only delivered results for clients, but could make a real impact, both in donations and in knowledge-sharing, at the same time. It’s why we call our service digital marketing with meaning.
It’s a promise that he’s kept ever since, pledging to donate up to 7% of the company profits to charity every year and offering discounted rates to our charity-registered clients. Over the years we’ve supported 35 charity events, raised money for 20 charities and run over 100km for charity. Our fundraising total currently sits at £51k, and so our #share77k journey begins. Can we reach £77k by the end of 2021?
In line with our 2018 #share7 campaign, we’ve chosen 10 charities to share our £77k fundraising target between and over the next two weeks we’ll be announcing those 10 charities, each nominated by a member of the team.
Gavin Willis talks about why he asks his staff to nominate their chosen charities:
“It’s important to me that the team choose charities that are close to their hearts. We always support our flagship charity, Rockinghorse – and have done since day one. The nine other charities have been chosen by me and the rest of the team, and are a mixture of organisations we’ve been supporting for a number of years and brand new charities for Search Seven. Learning why each of the team has chosen their charity is really interesting, and it’s fantastic working with so many different people, who are doing amazing work across the world.”
We have six fundraising events coming up – two this year and four in 2021, and we even squeezed in a Virtual charity quiz on Wednesday 15th April to ensure we got the ball rolling during lockdown – making it seven events (well it had to be really, right!)
With so many events planned, and following the success of our #share7 campaign, we’re confident we’ll reach our target of £77k, but we can only do it with the backing of our community, partners, local businesses and supporters. Without them we’ll be running even more miles than the 100km we’ve racked up already over the last nine years!
